This Winter Make Your Local Pharmacist The first port of Call

older woman visits pharmacistMost residents in Camden are only 15 minutes away from a local pharmacy and this winter the NHS is asking people to make use of pharmacy services to beat seasonal bugs.

If you need support for minor illnesses this winter, think popping to your local pharmacy first. You can get seen by your local pharmacy team quickly, easily, and on the day.

You do not need to have an appointment, and private consultation rooms are available. Where necessary, pharmacy teams can also signpost you to other relevant local services.

There are seven key conditions that pharmacists can help with:

  • earache (for those aged between 1 and 17)
  • impetigo (for those aged 1 year and over)
  • infected insect bites (for those aged 1 year and over)
  • shingles (for those aged over 18 years old)
  • sinusitis (for those aged 12 years and over)
  • sore throat (for those aged 5 years and over)
  • urinary tract infections (UTIs) (for women aged 16-64 years)
