📣 Have Your Say on Emergency Surgery for Babies and Very Young Children

NHS North Central London Integrated Care Board (NCL ICB) has updated their proposal for how emergency surgical care is provided for babies and very young children in Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington – and they want to hear your views.

Under the updated proposal:

  • babies and very young children who need emergency surgery would be transferred from their local hospital to a ‘centre of expertise’ at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital or The Royal London Hospital.
  • Great Ormond Street Hospital would continue to treat some children who are medically and surgically complex or already under the care of the hospital.

This would help make sure that babies and very young children get the specialist surgery and care they need as quickly as possible, without delay.
