On 16 October 2018, our board member Sarah Cawthra attended Camden’s Health and Wellbeing board meeting.
We have a seat on the Health and Wellbeing board, this means that we can influence how services work together.
We also have influence with the Care Quality Commission, the Clinical Commissioning Group and central government.
Our ambition is to achieve the best health and social care services that are shaped by local needs.
Every voice in Camden counts which is why we are always at meetings and events listening to what local people have to say.
We are supported by Healthwatch England, which also has statutory powers, and can raise serious issues at the highest level. We believe that most of the time we can influence and improve services through dialogue and partnership, without the need to invoke our statutory powers.
At the meeting Sarah attended, discussions took place on tackling health inequalities and obesity. A reporter was present and he filed this article after the meeting.
We are thinking about how Healthwatch Camden can contribute.
