Have you seen our latest annual report?

At our Community Forum on 26 June, we launched our annual report for 2017 / 18. It’s also our fifth anniversary and we’ve come a long way!

This years’ theme was ‘Making an impact’. Every change we’ve helped to bring about in health and social care started with a story from someone who uses services.

Examples of our impact:

  • Our research on mental health led to better ways of involving service users in planned changes at St Pancras Hospital.
  • Our work with disabled people on accessibility led to GP practices who needed assistance in implementing the Accessible Information Standard getting the communication support they needed.
  • We developed new partnerships including with William Ellis School and LaSWAP sixth form consortium. This resulted in young people getting the chance to creatively express their health concerns in three videos.
  • We followed up our partnership work with Independent Age, results were plentiful including a full evaluation report being published, and a round table discussion with stakeholders.

We’re liaising with more people in Camden’s diverse community. We want to get input from every section of the local community so that health and social care services reflect all our needs. We’ve built relationships with our local LGBT+ community, we’ve spoken to homeless people in partnership with The Crypt and vulnerable women at risk of prostitution and homelessness at Women at the Well. We’ve also continued our strong relationships with local BME organisations.

Last but not least our volunteers made an impact. They’ve helped us to improve accessibility, they’ve helped us to increase our social media presence, they liaised with local people on the streets to find out their views on health and social care services. We’re grateful for their hard work including our board, their input is invaluable.
