We attended the Queen’s Crescent Festival

On Saturday 8 August, Shelly our Community and Engagement Volunteer Manager, and Peter our Community Outreach Officer attended the Queen’s Crescent Festival.  The festival is organised by Queens Crescent Community Association, this year’s theme was ‘Community, Family and Healthy Living’.

Shelly and Peter gave out leaflets at our stall which describe what we do. They also asked people to participate in our ‘your voice counts’ survey, so that we could get an idea of what people prioritise in health and social care provision.

Local planning of health and social care services should include people from all communities and ages. However, too many people in communities across the country feel excluded. We aim to give a voice to those whose voices are often unheard.

So as part of our partnership work with Camden Council Scrutiny Panel on the Health needs of Bangladeshi Communities living in Camden; we asked Bangladeshi people to fill in a health and lifestyle survey. Cllr Quadir came to give a hand with filling in the surveys. The surveys will be used as part of wider evidence gathering and be part of a final report presented to the Camden Council Scrutiny Panel.

Healthwatch Camden champions equality. You can make health and social care services better for everyone by getting involved with us. We’re always interested in getting more volunteers at the events we attend. If you’re interested, why not contact us?
