On Saturday 6 June, we attended the Kentish Town Community Festival. Shelly our Community and Engagement Volunteer Manager, and Peter our Community Outreach Officer manned our stall and handed out information to let people know about Healthwatch Camden’s role in the community, and also to get more volunteers.
We’re helping local people to get the best out of health and social care services in Camden. We aim to be at many community events over the summer to give local people the chance to get involved with us and use their voice to have real influence on our health and social care services.
The day-long community celebration had live music and dance performances, creative workshops, information, food and crafts stalls. The Festival was spread across three sites, starting at Kentish Town Community Centre, stretching along Busby Place and out onto Cantelowes Gardens.
We’re out there talking and listening to people from every part of the community – children, adults and young people alike. Together we can create a better health and social are system for all of us.
Volunteers at the event were praised by attendees and stall holders for their enthusiasm and assistance on the day. Healthwatch Camden is always looking for more volunteers, contact us to get involved.
