Community engagement – Swiss cottage library care and support information day

On Wednesday March 11, Peter, our volunteer co-ordinator attended the Swiss Cottage Library, care and support information day.

The event’s aim was for local organisations to find out about care and support services available to the wider community living and working in Camden.

There was particular focus on the Care Act and the needs of the Camden community. The Act covers the care and support adults need to live as comfortably as possible with any illness or disability they may have. The day was also to make sure that the groups in attendance found out about organisations and services that embrace the new Care Act.

The changes taking place in our health and social care services means that local people’s voices are more important than ever. That’s where Healthwatch Camden comes in – we can champion your views and make sure that they are listened to.

At the event Peter met lots of other organisations and local people. He gave out copies of our annual report 2013/14 and encouraged people to volunteer with us.

Every voice counts, you need to tell us what you like and dislike about our health and social care services. Healthwatch Camden will work because people support us, join us, work with us and take part. Let your voice be heard – comment below!
