We’re organising focus groups with BME communities in Camden to help us identify the themes and challenges they face in accessing health and social care services.
Some of the focus groups are in mother tongue so that we don’t exclude anyone – every voice counts.
We know that the health outcomes for Camden’s BME residents is relatively poor compared to other communities. The feedback we get from our focus groups will let us know where further research and action is needed.
So far we’ve had feedback from African women, men and young people, Sudanese women and the Chinese community. Find out more about our session with Bangladeshi women.
We’re planning further sessions with the Afghan, Ethiopian, Albanian and Somali community. The best health and social care services are shaped by local needs and experiences.
Our role is to help you get the best out of your local health and social care services. The only way to do this, is for you – the local community – to come and talk to us.

We’re also looking for people to test our New Start Here…Guide. We’re running focus groups all this month. So if that’s your interest, give us a shout at Len.lauk@healthwatchcamden.co.uk
