This spring we’ll be starting a new project about outpatient referrals. Local people have told us there is sometimes confusion and delay between a GP referral and getting a specialist outpatient appointment at hospital.

We’re planning to survey patients who are waiting to see specialists at the Royal Free Hospital and at UCLH. We also want to hear from anyone who’s recently been referred by a GP so that we can learn more about these experiences. If you are interested in helping us with this work there are two ways you can get involved.

On Tuesday 29 January 2019, Sir Robert Francis, Chair of Healthwatch England and a resident of Camden will be joining us at our meeting in public. We’ll be at our new offices in Greenwood Place, Kentish Town and members of the public are welcome to join us.

With 152 local teams, supported by over 5,000 volunteers, the Healthwatch network has built links with communities right across the country. It’s also successfully established itself as an integral part of the health and social care system.

New year, new plan

The Long Term Plan for the NHS was published on 7 January.

We’re settling into our new offices at the Greenwood centre in Kentish Town. It’s a new year and we’re keen to continue working with local service users and residents to get the best out of our local health and social care services.

We’re also looking forward to our next meeting in public on 29 January which will be held at our new workplace. Sir Robert Francis, Chair of Healthwatch England and a Camden resident will be joining us.

Lifeafterhummus Community Benefit Society are new residents at Somerstown Community Association (STCA) thanks to introductions made by Tom Baines, economic development officer  at Camden Council and the support of Executive Director Sarah Elie MBE and Operations Manager Jodie Allen.
